PIXELBUF LLC, IN-APP PURCHASE TERMS OF SERVICE (“IAP ToS”)

TL;DR FOR PLAYERS
One-time purchases via the App Store / Google Play deliver digital items (heroes, gems, etc.) immediately after payment and have no cash value.
External checkouts (RevenueCat + Stripe) may be offered; you will leave the store environment and pay through Stripe’s 3-D Secure flow.
VIP subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel in the App Store / Google Play at least 24 hours before the period ends.

1. Acceptance of These Terms
By completing an in-app purchase in Idle Horizons you (a) confirm you are at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) and (b) agree to be bound by this IAP ToS, the Idle Horizons End-User License Agreement, and the platform rules of the Apple App Store and Google Play.
2. Virtual Items & Limited License
All heroes, skins, VIP time, gems, or other digital goods (“Virtual Items”) are licensed, not sold. PixelBuf LLC grants you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use Virtual Items inside Idle Horizons only. PixelBuf LLC may modify, rebalance, or remove any Virtual Item at any time to keep the game fair.
3. Pricing, Billing & RevenueCat
Idle Horizons uses RevenueCat as its subscription and purchase backend. RevenueCat acts as a secure intermediary between the app stores and our card processor (Stripe). For payments completed on Stripe, PixelBuf LLC remains the legal seller of record.
Storefront purchases. When you tap “Buy” in-game, Apple App Store or Google Play confirms the transaction and sends RevenueCat a receipt. PixelBuf LLC never stores full payment details.
External checkout (Stripe via RevenueCat). Where platform rules allow, RevenueCat forwards you to Stripe’s 3-D Secure flow. You briefly leave the store, Stripe processes the card on PixelBuf’s behalf, and RevenueCat notifies the game server for the delivery of the Virtual Item back to your account.
Data sharing. During an external checkout, Stripe collects and stores the full card details in its PCI-DSS Level 1 environment. Stripe then returns a tokenised payment identifier, the card brand, and the last four digits to RevenueCat and PixelBuf LLC. We never receive or store your complete card number or CVC.
Prices appear in your local currency and do not include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
4. Subscriptions (VIP)
VIP subscriptions renew automatically for the stated period (weekly, monthly, yearly) until you cancel. Cancel in the App Store / Google Play settings at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge. You keep VIP perks until the paid-for period ends even after cancelling.
5. Refunds
All sales are final once a Virtual Item is delivered. Apple and Google offer limited, store-managed refund windows; any refund request must be filed directly with the store provider. If a refund is granted, PixelBuf LLC may remove the refunded Virtual Item or equivalent value from your account. PixelBuf LLC reserves the right to terminate or suspend your account, without prior notice or liability, if you engage in abuse of the Virtual Items system, including but not limited to fraudulent refund requests, exploitation of technical vulnerabilities, or any other misuse as determined at PixelBuf's sole discretion.
6. Chargebacks & Disputes
If your bank reverses a payment (initiating a chargeback), we must place your Idle Horizons account on hold until the dispute is fully resolved.
If the dispute is decided against you, we will reapply the original charge to your account, add any platform fee imposed by Stripe (currently US $15 per dispute), and may also assess up to a US $25 administrative fee to cover investigation costs.
If you file chargebacks that we determine to be fraudulent or abusive, we will permanently close your account and you will forfeit all in-game Virtual Items.
7. Fraud Prevention
Limit purchase frequency or total spend in a rolling period.
Require 3-D Secure or additional verification on higher-risk transactions.
Share fraud-related data (never full card numbers) with Apple, Google, Stripe, RevenueCat, and law enforcement where legally required.
8. Termination & Account Closure
PixelBuf LLC may suspend or terminate your license to any Virtual Item if you breach these terms, violate game rules, or engage in fraud or abuse. No refund or compensation is owed for items lost because of such termination.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
Virtual Items and the game are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.” PixelBuf LLC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the fullest extent permitted by law.
10. Limitation of Liability
PixelBuf, its directors, employees, or partners will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from any purchase or use of Virtual Items. Direct damages are capped at the total amount you paid for the disputed Virtual Item in the previous twelve (12) months.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update this IAP ToS to reflect legal, technical, or game-balance changes. The revised version will be linked in-game and updated in this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continuing to make purchases after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
